Jason Owens is from Greenville, SC, where he attended the Fine Arts Center, and studied percussion privately with various instructiors. Jason went on to attend Limestone College in Gaffney, SC. There he studied drum set, snare drum, mallet percussion, and timpani. While at Limestone, Jason was a member of the percussion, wind, and jazz ensembles, and also performed with various groups as well as solo. In addition, he also taught several local marching band drumlines while in Gaffney. Jason has been teaching in Anderson for 2+ years, and still maintains a rigorous performing schedule, performing with artists such as The Wailers, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, members of Leftover Salmon, Col. Bruce Hampton, Blueground Undergrass and Garaj Girls, and Widespread Panic fame. Please feel free to contact Jason if you're interested in snare drum, mallets, or drum set lessons.
